Helsinki to Tallin, Estonia

We travelled by Viking Line ferry from Helsinki to Tallin in Estonia. Other boats go to Stockholm and St. Petersburg. I think the Helsinki to Tallin route is the most popular because Estonia is known as "the pub of Finland" because Finns buy their duty free alcohol. The ferry was surpirising, it was neat and pretty luxurious, but there were poker machines everywhere, and the Finns were straight into the grog. The trip takes 2 1/2 hrs, and out ticket included a cabin and a buffet lunch. The cabin was pretty good although not as big as our cabin on the Costa Mediterranea, and it only had a porthole. The trip is about 80km. The bottom decks were for trucks and cars. We saw all kinds of trucks disembark at Tallin. We walked from the port - terminal A to the Old Town, through "Fat Margarets gate" and then to the check in place for our apartment. We are staying in the "oldhouse" apartments - we are at Venne 12, which is opposite the Orthodox church and just near one of the gate ways in the old town wall. there is a paharmacy here that has been in operation as a pharmacy since 1422 ( my father was a pharmacist,, his father was a pharmacist, his father was a phrmacist . . . .) Our apartment  is pretty cool, it's big and I have my own room and it has wireless internet. The streets are cobbled ( not my favourite)
