Soggy SKYFIRE last night
We were up on the 5th floor of the Canberra Centre Car Park to take photos when the rain started. Had Korean food at Seoul Palace for dinner before the fireworks - YUM!
CANBERRA - Government House
Today was open day at Government House, Canberra. Government House is the residence of the Queen's representative in Australia, Her Excellency The Governor General Quentin Bryce. The house is not too regal, but is warm and firendly, just like its occupant - too lovely for words.
All money raised from the entry to Government House and the gardens went to The Smith Family, a charity which supports disadvantaged children get an education - well worthwhile.
The night before was SKYFIRE in Canberra, an annual fireworks festival on the lake. Unfortunately it rained during the fireworks, but the sunset before hand was NATURE's SKYFIRE!

More ENLIGHTEN photos
National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, during the Enlighten Festival.
These photos were taken about 10pm Friday March 2, 2011
Enlighten festival, Canberra
ENLIGHTEN is a festival of light projections onto public buildings in Canberra. The projections were onto the National Library of Australia, Questacon ( above), The National Portrait Gallery, The National Gallery of Australia and Old Parliament House. We went across on Friday March 2, and it wasn't raining for the opening night. The projections were "EPIC", and mum really liked them. There were static and moving images being projected and they all related to what happens inside the public building spaces.
