The school cabaret was held on June 6 & 7 at the Temora Town Hall. we played to 340 people over the two nights.
I was a country cousin of the groom ( played by Brad Storm) and sang the song "Venom wearing denim"
It was a great show, written by my drama teacher, Kate Townsend.

Penguin Tasmania

We spent five days in Tasmania on the North West Coast. We stayed at a town called Penguin, in a beach shack on Johnson's Beach. The shack was right on the water. This photo was taken at Stanley
Mum lost her wallet on The Nut at Stanley, but three days later the ranger ( named Merv) found it and we met him in Burnie and he gave it back.
The Big Penguin is in the Northern beach town of Penguin. Penguins come ashore here at night between October and March, unfortunately we did not see any real penguins, but we had a great time.

Filmed for Good Game Spawn Point for ABC TV at the Easter Show

After talking to Bajo & Hex I was filmed for ABC TV.
I asked the question, "What advice would you give to an aspiring game designer, and who would you recommend to review my game?"
The cameraman said that was a really excellent question, and he filmed it twice to make sure it was perfect.
Then I was given a God Game T-Shirt. A great day - thanks Mum for the mystery trip to Sydney:)

Bajo & Hex at the Sydney Royal Easter Show

Mum took me to the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Thursday 12 April 2012. We didn't know that Bajo & Hex would be there. I got to talk to them, and Bajo told me I had a cool T-Shirt ( the road runner with the definition of outsmart on the front)
I told them that I am currently designing my own game, they thought that was pretty interesting.
They signed a card for me and asked me to put my gamer name on their banner.
Bajo also thought mum looked pretty professional with her camera ( thanks for taking the photos mum)

Gary vs.The Big Eldo

Friday March 30, I met my nemesis, Big Eldo, at the Eldorado Steakhouse, Dickson, for a showdown.
1 Kg of steak plus fries and a salad. Mum warned me never to eat anything bigger than my head - I should have listened. That night Big Eldo won, but I'll be back.

Soggy SKYFIRE last night

We were up on the 5th floor of the Canberra Centre Car Park to take photos when the rain started. Had Korean food at Seoul Palace for dinner before the fireworks - YUM!

CANBERRA - Government House

Today was open day at Government House, Canberra. Government House is the residence of the Queen's representative in Australia, Her Excellency The Governor General Quentin Bryce. The house is not too regal, but is warm and firendly, just like its occupant - too lovely for words.

All money raised from the entry to Government House and the gardens went to The Smith Family, a charity which supports disadvantaged children get an education - well worthwhile.
The night before was SKYFIRE in Canberra, an annual fireworks festival on the lake. Unfortunately it rained during the fireworks, but the sunset before hand was NATURE's SKYFIRE!

Enlighten festival, Canberra

ENLIGHTEN is a festival of light projections onto public buildings in Canberra. The projections were onto the National Library of Australia, Questacon ( above), The National Portrait Gallery, The National Gallery of Australia and Old Parliament House. We went across on Friday March 2, and it wasn't raining for the opening night. The projections were "EPIC", and mum really liked them. There were static and moving images being projected and they all related to what happens inside the public building spaces.

Twilight BBQ at "Truro" via Cootamundra

Went to a twilight BBQ at Richard Hick's farm, "Truro", just 15km from Cootamundra on the Old Cootamundra Road.
Magic views,  great food and the biggest Moreton Bay fig tree this side of the range!

This photo only shows part of the big tree.

Sydney, sweet Sydney

In Sydney for a couple of days. Had dinner with Uncle Bill in Manly.
One of the best things you can do when visiting Sydney, from anywhere in the world, is get the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly.

The next day we viewed the Harry Potter exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum. An excellent exhibition of film props, costumes and memorabilia. If you go remember to book a ticket in advance and I'd recommend the audio guide for an additional$7.50.
We also caught Journey 2: mysterious island featuring the unforgettable " pec pop" performed by Dwayne Johnston.
Had a fantastic dinner at Chef Gallery, just off Bathurst Street, Sydney. Contemporary Chinese food - excellent Tataki Waygu!

Summer Holidays - Canberra for the first week in January

We spent from December 31 to January 6 in Canberra- Australia's bush capital.
New Years Eve was spent in the city watching Fireworks while eating gelato from the Mill Cafe in Garema Place.
We spent the next week looking at exhibitions - including "Handwritten" at the National Library ( it was cool to see Galileo's handwritten multiplication table), and Contemporary Chinese Art at the National Museum of Australia. We saw the movies Happy Feet 2 and Sherlock Holmes- a game of shadows, and I saw the The Chipmunks- Chipwrecked. We shoppped at Costco - including getting new tyres for Mum's car, and one night we had pizza down by the lake. I caught up with my friend Alicia - she's doing really well at Uni and has been offered honours from all her course lecturers, she gave me a Harry Potter chocolate frog as well as some great Top Gear DVDs for Christmas. I was going to take her to Seoul Palace for dinner, but it's closed until January 17 - so we went to Taj Mahal for Indian instead. Alicia is hoping to get a US Internship in 2012 - she has to apply by August 5 - we wish her lots of luck with her application because we think she will love Washinton DC as much as we do.
And I signed up for CanCon at MindGames - Dad and I are going  January 27-29- YAY :)
Behind Mum and me is the tinsel truck - everywhere we went in Canberra we saw the tinsel truck - it was spooky when it was even in the carpark at Telstra Tower when we went there for Mum's birthday!
Lake Burley Griffin
Canberra.

Mum's Birthday - ( don't tell anyone she's 48!) - dinner at Alto, Canberra.

January 4 is Mum's birthday. We took her to Alto restaurant, at the top of Telstra Tower in Canberra, for dinner. It is a revolving restaurant which takes 85 minutes to complete a revolution. We opted to have three courses for $75 which was a good choice. The food was delicious - I had Duck and potato terrine, Crisp Pork Belly with handcut chips with aioli, and  carrots, blue cheese and walnuts as sides and then chocolate delice for dessert - YUM!
I also had a mocktail - a sweet & sour apple.
Dad had twice cooked gruyere souffle, Angus steak with Brandade potato and burnt honey pannacotta with pear
Mum had Crab Fettucine, Veal with mushrooms ( they weren't Death Cap mushrooms - two people died in Canberra from eating those on New Years Eve) and Strawberry Bavarois. We all shared the sides - although Mum only got 4 small chips ( Dad and I scoffed those)
All in all a good night - great views, great service, big serves!

Christmas Breakfast - Adelong NSW - Australia

We traveled to Grandmas and Pa's for Breakfast on Christmas Day - Ciarne, Tina, and Kent  travelled from Tumut.

I still believe! ( because he keeps bringing me cool presents)

Christmas 2011
I got a 3Ds from Santa and an IPad 2 from Mum and Dad - cool!

Grandma and Pa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2011

All my cousins ( except James who couldn't make it), Mum and Dad, and my Aunty and Uncles got together on December 17 to celebrate Grandma and Pa's 50th Wedding Anniversary. They were married on December 30, 1961.
